Privacy notice

Last updated

This notice explains what personal data Code4X collects through code4x.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We don’t sell personal data.

Who we are

Code4X runs code4x.com. In this notice, “we” and “us” mean Code4X, and “you” means anyone who visits the site or gets in touch with us.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to reply to you and to run the free check.

  • Details you give us. Your name, work email, company, role and website, and anything you write in a form.
  • Free check data. The website you asked us to check, the date and the result.
  • Technical data. Your IP address, browser, the pages you visit and when, from our server logs.

How we use it

  • To reply to you and arrange a call with an engineer
  • To run your free check and send you the result
  • To scope and deliver work you ask us for
  • To keep the site secure and stop misuse
  • To meet our legal obligations

We rely on your consent when you ask us to contact you about your result. We rely on our legitimate interests to keep the site secure and improve the check. When you hire us, we process data to perform our contract with you.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to host the site, send email and keep records. They act on our instructions and under contract. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the reason we collected it. A free check result stays at its link for 30 days. Server logs are kept for a short period for security, then deleted.

Cookies and browser storage

code4x.com uses only the storage it needs to work. The free check keeps your recent results in your browser for 30 days, so you can open them again. We don’t use advertising cookies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • Show you the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct it or delete it
  • Stop using it, or limit how we use it
  • Give it to you in a format you can take elsewhere
  • Withdraw a consent you gave us

You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

How we protect it

We use encryption in transit, limit who can access personal data, and review our service providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.

Changes to this notice

When we change this notice, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we tell you before it takes effect.
